Retention roulette....how do you win?

Retention in the construction industry has long been known as an easy extra bit of profit for main contractors.

But how and why is this the case?

it can be a combination of factors but often sub-contractors do not have the time nor the processes in place to effectively chase and recover in good time.

Main contractors have also moved on, and often kick the can down the road when the question of retention being paid comes up.

In the end, many contractors are too busy focusing on the new projects to waste time on chasing what on the face of it may seem like smaller debts.

So what's the alternative?

Currently a sub-contractor could look towards debt recovery or legal action if retention recovery goes unpaid and ignored but this can be costly and time consuming.

Couple this with the fact that they may have ongoing or future works with the contractor and do not want to risk relationships.

Main contractors know this...

For these reasons and others, often many smaller retention's that combined add up to millions of pounds throughout the sector get left unchallenged and in the profit margins of the main contractors.

We don't think this is fair and believe there is a better alternative.

recovermyretention.com was built to utilise tech to streamline the recovery of retention in a professional manner and for minimal costs, leaving you to concentrate on delivering your current projects.
